Natural wood furniture is environmentally friendly for our health, but it is very susceptible to various external influences. So that wooden furniture serves for a long time, you need to care for it correctly.
We start with the installation – it is very important to correctly install wooden furniture so that there are no distortions of doors, boxes and shelves. If the floor is not even, put the lining under the desired leg and align the furniture.
Wooden furniture is not placed near the heating battery or in places of exposure to sunlight, as it dries and loses its shape. If the heating battery cannot be avoided, then you need to protect the wall adjacent to it with a heat -reflecting canvas.
Do not wipe the dust with a damp cloth, as polishing will quickly lose its appearance. To remove dust, use dry, soft flannel or cloth rag.
If the surface is still damaged, then for its restoration, a remedy based on silicone and wax is well suited. This composition is rubbed with a soft cloth cloth.
Over time, due to the action of sunlight, the coating of furniture fades and ages. In this case, you can extend the service life by applying a wax layer to the polished surface. Compounds containing wax in a wide range are sold in stores. The use of use for them is the same: a thin layer, such a paste is distributed along a lacquered surface, withstands half an hour until drying, and then polished by a soft rag to shine.
To maintain shine, fluid is applied to the polished surface with cotton wool. It includes: 3 parts of turpentine, 2 parts of stearic acid, and several dye crystals – in the color of the furniture.
You probably already noticed, after wiping furniture from dust, dust appears again after a couple of hours. The fact is that when wiping, the polishing surface is electrified. Dust particles moving in the air are also electrified, and quickly, like a magnet, are attracted to polishing. Therefore, the main indicator of the cleaning agent for furniture is its antistatic effect. But when buying such drugs, pay attention to their instructions, for which coating they are intended. Basically, modern furniture is covered with polyurethane, nitro -cellulose or polyester varnishes.
It is very convenient to use antistatic “dry cleaning” napkins, from dense cotton fabric. There are several varieties of such napkins: some are saturated with wax, or with a wax -like composition, for multiple polishing furniture, others contain a thin abrasive to restore a faded shine.
You can update the unlawed furniture with the following composition: finely overwined wax is poured into a jar, and poured with turpentine. The jar is placed in a pan of water, and warm in a water bath until the wax melts in the turpentine. The prepared mixture is thoroughly mixed and the surface of the furniture is rubbed with it, after which it is polished with a cloth.
A stain from a hot cup, kettle or iron, it is easy to remove on a varnished surface.
Option 1: For this, wipe the spot with a soft student elastic band, as wiped on paper, and then wipe the entire surface with liquid for polishing. The varnished surface will look like new.
Option 2: The spot is removed by the composition, which consists of vegetable oil and sodium salt. A swab moistened in this composition, rub the stain with circular movements until it disappears completely.
Option 3: The spot is rubbed with a piece of paraffin with wax, then this place is covered with paper and pressed with a hot iron. Once again, repeating this procedure, cover it with a soft cloth cloth.
If the stains on the surface are old, then they need to be covered with a mixture of vegetable oil and sodium salt, and after a couple of hours, remove this place with a woolen rag.
With good care, wooden furniture will last you for a long time.
